Real-Time Production Line Monitoring System

I-Andon (Integrated Andon) is a real-time production line monitoring system widely used in the automotive industry, especially following Japanese production methods. It serves as an error prevention system, allowing personnel to notify authorities of any abnormal situations using buttons placed in front of them.

When an issue arises:

1 -The system displays the type of problem on LED-Matrix panels as user codes and error codes.

2 -With the affordability of LCD and Plasma televisions in today's market, these types of display interfaces are more commonly used instead of LED matrix panels.

3 -An audible warning system accompanies the visual display to draw attention to the issue.

4 -The system records the start time and duration of the event through computer software.

Additionally, the Andon panels may display various production line data, including efficiency, downtime, and production quantities.

For example, if there is a line stoppage, the production operator can press a button to call maintenance personnel. If materials run out, they can use a kanban system to request additional supplies. Moreover, if they are unable to meet production targets, they can notify the line leader for assistance. All this data, including the type of issue, its start time, duration, and the time the responsible person arrives at the scene, is stored in a computer system for further analysis. By analyzing this data, companies can address recurring problems, improve efficiency, and optimize their production processes.
